What is Cost Specialists?

Cost Specialists is a regional cost reduction organization that is part of a national network of over forty cost consulting affiliates, giving us a breadth of experience and knowledge to bring to your company. We work in partnership with clients and vendors to reduce costs while maintaining product quality and vendor service. We partner with a limited number of profit and nonprofit organizations each year to help them reduce their expenses. Cost Specialists brings to your business an important outside viewpoint and, unlike consultants who work for a set or hourly fee, we operate strictly on a contingency basis. In other words, if we don't save you money, we don't get paid. We help your company function more cost-effectively so you can spend your time and assets on product quality and customer relationships. Our goal is to help your company cut costs without disrupting personnel or company operations.

How will we save?

Through negotiated national and local pricing, detailed analysis and objective recommendations, we provide our clients immediate expense reduction without sacrificing quality or service. Our clients specify the areas to be reviewed, but typically we analyze any or all purchased products or services, including the following expenses:

How does it work?

We design programs to reduce expenses and improve your profitability. We use proven methodologies—purchasing analysis and implementation of cost reduction programs to improve our client's bottom line.

» Cost Specialists will audit your payable files in areas you feel you may be overpaying. We will determine your buying patterns and habits, and create a plan to effectively reduce costs without compromising on quality or service. The majority of the time we negotiate better pricing with the vendors you are used to working with.
» We engage company members and vendors to define the quality, use, specifications and vendor service needs.
» The majority of our work is done off-site so we do not disrupt your business as an audit typically does.
» You decide which of our recommendations should be put into action. You are never required to follow any of the cost-saving strategies we provide.
» We will work with your staff and vendors to assure a smooth implementation.

What we don’t do

» We never suggest eliminating or reducing employees, or cutting salaries to save money. We assess your spending habits and find prudent and beneficial ways to save money. We want your company and its employees to succeed, so we want to avoid disrupting your business or its relationship with employees.
» Cost Specialists does not use a set of pre-packaged gimmicks to reduce costs. Our cost cutting strategies are based on analysis of purchasing patterns and vendor negotiation.
» Cost Specialists does not badger vendors or play one vendor off another to get a cost savings. We negotiate to find you the best price and the very best service.
» Cost Specialists does not require you to change your vendors. We negotiate fees with vendors to obtain the best pricing and service for your company—in many cases company’s keep using the same vendors that they have been using.
» Cost Specialists does not require you to do anything that you don’t want to. All decisions on our recommendations are in your control.
» Cost Specialists does not sell any products or services. Our only goal is to save you money, and that’s the only way we get paid.
» Cost Specialists does not share any information about your company or our findings. We operate on the strictest confidentiality and value your privacy.

What will it cost?

The service is risk free. Our fee is just 50% of the first years’ documented savings. After that, 100% of the savings are yours to keep. We don’t charge a thing if you decide not to follow our recommendations. And, if Cost Specialists cannot find a way to save you money, the analysis is completed at no cost to you. Again, if we can't save you money, we don't get paid!

Will we have to change suppliers?

Our clients never give up the right to choose their suppliers. Although maximum cost savings are generally realized through Cost Specialist's supplier network, significant savings can often be negotiated with existing suppliers. We provide valuable benchmarking data so that our clients can make informed supplier selections. We focus on getting you the best price for the best vendor service. You make the final decisions.

Will using Cost Specialists disrupt my business?

We are experts at maintaining the smooth flow of business for our clients. All information is gathered at your specific direction and with minimum interruption of your staff's valuable time. In addition, most of the detailed analysis, as well as the price negotiations with suppliers, are completed off-site.
